This General Conference promises to provide, to the people of God, God- given direction for the future. Our 78th General Conference convenes in Phoenix, Arizona, at the America West Arena. We are anticipating an exceptionally large attendance at this conference for the simple reason that across this fellowship there is a wave of anticipation that God is going to do great things through and among us. I have made the statement many times over the past eight months that...

We must come, one and all, to receive divine direction from Almighty God. We must ask ourselves what we can do for this one-God Jesus Name message and how we can propagate this message throughout the world. We have a mission that only God can enable us to fulfill. Please come to hear what your Foreign and Home Missions leaders have to say as they share with us God’s strategy for this last day.

V/hen Jesus addressed the letters to the seven churches of Asia Minor in the Book of Revelation, He concluded those letters by saying, on several occasions, “Let him that hath an ear hear what the Spirit sayeth unto the churches.” I am praying to God that He will give the UPCI the ability to hear what the Spirit says and to surrender to God’s will for this hour.

You will hear from many of our ministers who will challenge your hearts. The Youth Division, Sunday School Division, and both Ladies Ministries and Men’s Ministries, along with many others will stir your souls. There is no question but that the Phoenix General Conference is going to have a MIGHTY SPIRITUAL IMPACT upon the entire ministerial constituency.

Fellowship is wonderful. Our ministers and wives, young people and precious saints of God will come from many geographical locations to enjoy a great time of fellowship in worship, praise, conversation, and visiting with one another over meals in restaurants. There is much to be said for wholesome fellowship, but the focus of the General Conference is to hear what the Spirit is saying unto the Church.

The Executive Board chose the theme as “One God, One World, One Church, One Vision.” If God will allow, we will receive such a visitation from Him that our men and women will sell out to the cause of evangelism of the world with this truth. I believe that this convention will make a historic difference in the destiny of this great church.

In addition, we have planned a very special day service. The members of the Executive Board were emotionally moved and stirred as they discussed this service. It will be a healing and restoration service for all ministers and wives as well as laymen. We are aware that Satan is attempting to traumatize and devastate the leaders of the church. If he can affect the leaders, then the body will be most adversely affected. There are many among us who are wounded, hurt, and have come under severe attack. Their minds, lives, families, and even their bodies have been affected. We believe that in this service God is going to pour out his healing oil and there will be a great spirit of restoration that will come to all of the men and women who are present.

And finally, the grand finale of this conference will be Sunday, the 29th of September. When you think of the men, women, ministers, and families that have converged upon the city and metropolitan area of Phoenix, you realize that it is vitally important that we impact the city for God prior to leaving. We intend to saturate the entire area with a revival of the truth and the message of salvation that sets men free from sin with demonstrations of the Spirit following. We ask you to pray and to come early. We will have teams to pass out tracts. We will be ministering up and down the streets throughout the city and are planning to rent buses to bring them in from all segments of the city.
