Compassion Services Provides Food, Water to Earthquake Victims

Compassion Sunday

The death toll from the February 6 earthquake that devastated Turkiye and Syria now exceeds 47,000, and more than 3.5 million people have been displaced from their homes. Compassion Services International, the humanitarian outreach ministry of the UPCI, is collecting funds to provide food, water, and basic hygiene to victims of this disaster. To assist with such efforts, the UPCI has designated February 26 as Compassion Sunday. We encourage every church to collect an offering to support the work CSI is doing in Turkiye, Syria, and around the globe.

Your church will receive Global Missions giving credit for your Compassion Sunday offering. Make checks payable to Compassion Services International and note “Compassion Sunday” in the memo portion. You can mail your Compassion Sunday offering to:

Compassion Services International
PO Box 14
St. Charles, MO 63302

Thank you for supporting Compassions Services International and showing the love of Jesus to those who are suffering.

Appreciation Sunday

Appreciation Sunday is an initiative that connect churches with their communities. We have honored first responders, civil servants, educators, and entrepreneurs. Many honorees, along with family members and colleagues, have been introduced to the Apostolic message through this initiative. City officials have attended these services honoring those who make a positive impact on the lives of others. The Appreciation Sunday initiative has served to create common ground and ignite interest in the church from area residents.

Appreciation Sunday is designated on the second Sunday in September. The date for 2023 is Sunday, September 10. For more information on how to get started, visit appreciationsunday.upci.org or email the coordinator, Micheal Mitchell, at appreciationsundayatupci@gmail.com.

NACLC Prayer & Fellowship Summit

The National Apostolic Christian Leadership Conference (NACLC) will host its first annual Prayer & Fellowship Summit on June 7–8 at the Museum of the Bible in Washington, D.C. Attendees will hear from honored officials and guest artists, have an opportunity to visit Capitol Hill, and participate in a special worship service. This event is the NACLC’s primary annual fundraiser. Sponsorship opportunities are still available, but space is limited. Email Executive Director Ken Gurley at ken.gurley@naclc.org for more information.

SAGES: New Ministry for Seniors

At General Conference 2022, Church Advancement launched a new ministry designed specifically for constituents over the age of 55 – because ministry doesn’t end when we retire! SAGES is designed to keep senior adults involved in the church, in outreach, and foster communication with the next generation. We are thrilled to present the first annual SAGES Summit in St. Charles, Missouri, on May 2–4, 2023. This summit is specifically focused on fellowship, encouragement, and bridging the gap between generations. For more information, visit UPCISAGES.com.

Fivefold Ministry Discovery Conference

The Central Zone Fivefold Ministry Discovery Conference will be held March 23–25 at The Life Church in Kansas City, Missouri. This conference is based on Ephesians 4:11–12 and will help believers discover their place of ministry in the body of Christ and position the church for a great end-time harvest. Visit tlckcmo.com/5-fold-ministry-conference for more information.

Sincerely in Christ,

David K. Bernard
