NAYC Features Opportunity for Students to SERVE

Students participate in the SERVE event at North American Youth Congress 2019.

Students at North American Youth Congress will pack three thousand disaster relief supply buckets in preparation for future emergencies as part of SERVE, a collaboration between UPCI Youth Ministries and Reach Out America.

The eighth SERVE event will occur Friday, July 28 at 2:00 p.m. in Halls 1 and 2 of the America’s Center in downtown St. Louis. This service project is part of North American Youth Congress, a biennial student conference expected to draw more than thirty-three thousand attendees.

“Serve Day allows young people to give a hypothetical cup of water to a child or family in need, fulfilling Jesus’ words with their deeds,” said Reach Out America Coordinator Mark Johnson. “We pray this event engages students in a lifelong journey of service to their community.”

Each disaster relief supply bucket will include personal care items such as toothbrushes, toothpaste, soap, and other hygiene products, as well as cleaning supplies such as laundry and dish soap. When a disaster strikes, Reach Out America will coordinate with local UPCI churches to distribute these and other relief supplies to residents who have been impacted.

Reach Out America is an endorsed ministry of the United Pentecostal Church International. From January 1, 2021, to December 31, 2021, the organization distributed more than $10 million of disaster and community support supplies nationally and internationally. Visit ReachOutAmerica.com to learn more about their work, donate, or get involved.

The SERVE event is inspired by Matthew 22:39, where Jesus commanded His followers, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” All SERVE attendees will receive a complimentary t-shirt. UPCI Youth Ministries is accepting donations to cover the cost of the relief supplies at fundraise.givesmart.com.

North American Youth Congress is a biennial event focused on teenagers and young adults. From its inception in 1979, it has grown from convention centers to basketball arenas to football stadiums. NAYC features dynamic worship services, powerful preaching, and practical breakout sessions. Learn more at NorthAmericanYouthCongress.com.
