The UPCI’s annual General Conference begins next week in Long Beach, California, and organizers are expecting a full house. More than 13,000 people already have registered to attend the October 1-4 event, which will be held at the Long Beach Convention & Entertainment Center.
It has been forty years since UPCI General Conference was held on the West Coast. Anaheim, California, was the host city for the 1984 General Conference, as well as the 1976 event. Long Beach hosted the 1948 General Conference, just three years after the organization was founded.
“Southern California is home to many growing and thriving UPCI churches, so we look forward to hosting our flagship conference there,” said UPCI General Superintendent Dr. David K. Bernard. “This location gives us an opportunity to connect with constituents who may never have attended General Conference in the past.”
General Conference attendance has increased in recent years, and this year’s event looks to continue that trend. Peak attendance at General Conference 2022 in Orlando, Florida, reached 11,000 people. Last year’s conference in Indianapolis, Indiana, had a peak service attendance of approximately 10,000 people.
Registration for General Conference 2024 is free and is required for entry into all services. Attendees can register online at upcigc.net/registration or in-person at the door.
Featured speakers at this year’s conference include Adam Hunley, David McGovern, Donny Willis, Art Wilson, Doug White, Luke Levine, Doug Klinedinst, Daniel Ramos, Joel Urshan, and Dr. Bernard. Services will be livestreamed on the UPCI’s Facebook page and YouTube channel, as well as at DiscipleshipNow.com. Visit upcigc.net/schedule for a complete schedule of events.
The General Conference schedule includes ministry seminars on Thursday and Friday. Visit upcigc.net/2024-seminars for a complete seminar schedule. Attendees also can browse more than 120,000 square feet of exhibit space featuring ministries and vendors of interest to UPCI constituents.
The UPCI’s annual business meeting for credentialed ministers will be held Wednesday, October 2, at 9 am Pacific.
Next year’s General Conference will be held September 23-26 in St. Louis, Missouri. A list of future General Conference dates and locations is available at upcigc.net/conference-dates.
